Overview
COVID-19 has rapidly affected our day to day life, including millions of lives lost, public health systems in shock and economic and social disruption, disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable.
India’s national lockdown in March 2020 was one of the strictest in the world. Hospitals couldn’t keep up with the growing number of covid patients and testing day by day.
As hospitals in Delhi and many other cities ran out of beds, people were forced to find ways to get treatment for sick patients at home. And in rural areas Covid situation got even worse.
Problem statement
To devise a system which increases the number of covid testing and vaccination while also providing a homelike environment for doctors.
My role
I conceptualized the interiors and functionality of the product.

Challenges
Difficulties in working with personal protective equipment. (PPE)
Lack of proactive safe systems for frontline health workers.
Limited resources to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Increasing number of Covid cases every day.
Fear of going to hosptial among people.
Solution
By analyzing all the problems faced by the people and doctors, the idea of a portable mobile testing clinic came into play. We thought if everything can come to your doorstep, why not vaccines?
We conceptualised a portable medical vehicle. A clinic was made inside a bus, which goes from place to place to treat patients in the clinic itself. Its like a portable hospital. So instead of going to the hospital it came to you.
The goal behind the idea was to conduct vaccination and testing facility for underpriviliged and specially abled people while aslo providing a safe sterile home like environment for doctors.
The first covid testing mobile clinic made inside an old CRPF. This testing clinic was made in 15 days during April 2020 during lockdown.

This medical clinic offers a number of features for smooth functioning of Corona testing.

All the portable clinics have a provision to work as normal ambulance after the pandemic is over.
Getting Better…
The next version of these portable clinics get even more advanced with new features like voice command recognition and vaccination storage fridge . These clinic even houses a washroom for doctor’s use.
The first mobile clinic only had covid testing facility. The later versions of these mobile clinics provide both Covid testing and vaccination.
First bus was Pre-built. Next versions of the portable clinic were built from ground up on a Mercedes chassis.
1st clinic was inaugurated by Dr BM mishra IAS, DM South Delhi.
2nd and 3rd clinic by Sh Vijay Dev IAS, chief secretary Delhi.
4th clinic by Sh Manohar lal Khattar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana.
Key takeaways
Designing these portable mobile clinic have given me a valuable experience. We received overwhelming responses from both doctors and patients. By closely examining the need of the doctors and the patients we were able to come up with the exact solution which served both the purposes.
